The Motorcycle & Scooter Assemblers and Distributors Association of Malaysia (MASAAM) was formally established in 1997 with the objective of serving as the official representative body for the motorcycle and scooter industry in Malaysia.
The Motorcycle & Scooter Assemblers and Distributors Association of Malaysia (MASAAM) was formally established in 1997 with the objective of serving as the official representative body for the motorcycle and scooter industry in Malaysia.
The formation of MASAAM was driven by the collective recognition among industry stakeholders of the need for a unified platform to advocate for common interests, facilitate regulatory engagement, and support the sustainable growth of the sector.

Comprising assemblers, distributors, importers, and key players in the two-wheeler segment, MASAAM was founded to strengthen collaboration with relevant government ministries, agencies, and regulatory bodies. The Association plays a crucial role in addressing issues related to vehicle type approval, safety standards, environmental compliance, and the advancement of industry best practices.

Since its inception, MASAAM has remained committed to fostering an environment conducive to innovation, competitiveness, and technological progress in Malaysia’s motorcycle and scooter industry. The Association continues to serve as a strategic partner to the government in shaping policies that align with national transportation, industrial, and environmental goals.

MASAAM Annual Grand Meeting & Luncheon with Authorities (2019)
On 26 June 2019 at KIP Hotel Kuala Lumpur, MASAAM hosted its AGM alongside a luncheon featuring authorities from MARii, JKJR, MIROS, and KPDNHEP, plus members from key industry players like Yamaha, Honda, Modenas, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and more.
